Resident Evil 7: Horror game or shooter?

Resident Evil 7 has taken the world by storm. Everyone is playing it (over 80,000 unique VR players) and everyone is loving it, including us.

But in the past the Resident Evil franchise was "famous" that it shifted it's focus form the horror genre to the FPS genre. Games felt more like Call of Duty, the horror aspect was there but not what it used to be. And now that RE 7 is out the question is did CAPCOM made #ResidentEvilGreatAgain. The Answer? Absolutely! There is still the FPS aspect but it's not shoved in your face, the variety of guns is not big but also not small (what a horror game should be like). Ammo management is way more important than what gun you have. And the horror isn't cheap like most mainstream horror games do it now, no cheap jumpscares this game will give you nightmares by the atmosphere. A well structured story, with all the good aspects of a horror game and the FPS element not making you feel like you are playing another CoD game, will probably make this game a great candidate for the "Game of The Year" Award.
